Somewhere between buying the camera and actually making films, a lot of filmmakers get stuck waiting. For the perfect script, the right budget, the stars to align. And while they wait, nothing gets made.

When the Founder of Stillgood was earning her M.A. in Film at SCAD, the film department dean said it plainly: "If you leave here without a community you can build with, I can't help you," and this notion of community became a core Stillgood value. She watched filmmakers who'd been stuck for years suddenly produce their best work the moment they had community, a deadline, and constraints that leave them no choice but to be creative problem solvers. Clearly, a lack of ideas or resources was never the problem - everyone needs a community to push and collaborate with.

So she designed a year of film challenges for herself. Ten projects. Any gear. Quick script turnaround. Then she brought it to the classroom where she watched students go from disappointed in their own work to making films that looked like professional proof-of-concepts. They didn't get better equipment or magically gain a ton of experience overnight, but when they developed real filmmaker instincts their work simply spoke for itself.

That's what Stillgood is. A training ground for cinematic instincts — the part of filmmaking you can’t learn from reading or watching others doing it. Practice-based, feedback-driven, and built for filmmakers at every level. No expensive gear required (nor is it allowed).
