frequently asked questions

I’m a beginner. Will you teach me how to make a film from shooting to editing?

You’ll learn the “why” behind every shot first. Once you know that, you will unlock tech-centered classes, which will become way easier to master.

What will I actually be doing in class?

You’ll complete real scene challenges, framing drills, and film-specific problem solving exercises that teach you how to ideate fast like a pro.

How will this help me if I already know how to use film gear?

Gear skills without visual instinct are like knowing how to hold a bat but not how to hit. We train your instincts and facilitate repeatable challenges to keep you sharp.

Why don’t you use gear in your workshops?

We focus on your ability to see, plan, and compose — skills that work on any camera.

Are the classes free?

Ever notice how films shot on camcorders or small budgets like Paranormal Activity ($15k) can go far and make millions? It's not the gear — that’s strong cinematic instincts. And that’s exactly what we build here. Our exercises give as much as you put in. Like a push-up.

How is this different from film school?

Film school is like learning karate at a big dojo. StillGood is like learning from Mr. Miyagi. Wax on, wax off.

Will this really make me a better filmmaker?

Some of our workshops and classes are totally free to join! Whereas others will have an affordable registration fee.
