Want to practice making scenes that "work?" This hands-on workshop helps you understand what makes a compelling scene by actually making one. You'll learn how to break down framing, composition, blocking, and editing, then film and refine your own scene with guided exercises.

All lessons are accessible and practice-based. No prior experience required.

This workshop is ideal for: filmmakers who want a better grasp of their unique style of shot design and to practice the craft of visual storytelling like with guidance/feedback from a professional filmmaker.

Come to class with any device to film on. If you're bringing a:

• Phone - make sure it's fully charged and has enough storage

• DSLR - don't bring your best and fanciest camera

You will develop the skills to design shots that are meaningful and cinematic without relying on gear. The idea is that you should be able to make compelling films with whatever you have without letting access to gear or resources stop you from practicing your craft! The idea is that you can be unstoppable because what you have is still good enough to be a filmmaker.
